You�re a liar.
I know you don�t want to hear that. But it�s true.
So am I. And man I hate to say that. But it�s true too. We all lie. To ourselves.
Now in our defense, we don�t mean to. And not only do we not mean to�we
don�t even know we are doing it. Because we are in a state of denial.
We suffer from �confirmation bias� and see things as we would like them to be�not as they really are.
� We say we are eating healthy because we ordered a salad�and don�t see

� We tell ourselves our marriage or relationship is good because we
didn�t have a fight in a week. Total disassociation from reality.
� We tell ourselves we�re quitting smoking because we went from two packs a day to a pack and a half. What a joke!
� We like to think because we buy self-development books and audios that means we�re actually using them. Fantasy sometimes.
� We believe because we keep firing the idiots that work for us we�re
solving the problem. But the real problem is the idiot who keeps hiring
the idiots.
� We like to think that because we throw money at problems�buying more
technology, hiring more experts, or installing more systems�we have
solved the problem. This is total bullshit because it doesn�t address
the core beliefs that create the behavior which creates the problem to
begin with.
Let�s get a few things straight. That dress or that shirt does not make you look fat. They simply reveal the fact you are fat.
The reason your budget is tight is not because the Arabs raised the
price of oil, your boss is cheap, or big corporations are greedy. Your
money is tight because you spend more than you take in and haven't discovered how to develop residual income streams.
The reason your current girlfriend or boyfriend has some of the same
neurosis as your last four has nothing to do with them. It is all about
you.
Yet it is amazing the depths and ability of the human mind to deceive
itself. I had a fascinating conversation with a guy a few weeks ago.
He related the story of his latest webmaster that shut down his site and
held him up for ransom. This was the latest in a string of situations
like that for him. Finally someone asked him what he might be doing to
manifest all this.
Of course he was offended to be asked that question. But when he got
over that, he advanced his theory on why he was always in situations
like that. What do you think it was?
Basically he told me that God created people like him to let other
people take advantage of them�knowing that he would take it all without
getting violent. So he sees himself as the ultimate martyr. The noble
selfless guy who lets everyone victimize him, eating up all the bad
karma to spare the rest of us.
It works out perfect for everyone. He gets to be a martyr, and his
partners in co-dependence get to run their rackets. Everyone gets to
feel noble and live in denial.
What a total crock of shit.
And that is the nature of the human animal. We actually hear things
that weren�t said. And we see things that don�t exist. We simply make
them up to conform with our view of the world around us and what we want
to happen.
Republicans think Bush won the debates. Democrats think Kerry was the
victor. Libertarians like me think they both were pathetic. Now
Republicans think they have a mandate, and Democrats think the election
was stolen. Whatever.
I was sitting in a Board meeting for my church. Patricia mentioned that
the minister�s birthday was coming up. Alice said, �Let�s remember
people�s preferences in the future. Because we bought Benny a cake for
his birthday. But he is a vegan and couldn�t eat it.�
We all agreed this was a good idea and moved on to other business.
Patricia called me afterward and asked me what we should do with Alice.
I wanted to know why. She said, �Because of the way she attacked me
during the meeting.�
I had no idea what she was talking about. �What do you mean?� I asked.
�I was the one that bought the cake for Benny. She said that I was
selfish and inconsiderate. She attacked me in the meeting!�
I assured her that Alice had said no such thing, and repeated what she
really said. Patricia disputed this and then went on to make even more
outrageous claims about statements that had never been said. Here is
the most interesting part of the equation�
You know what Patricia�s occupation is? She is a mental health therapist.
Really. But like many of them, she is crazier than the people she
treats. She warps reality to fit her perception of the world. Reality
is subjective.
So what do we do about all this?
In many cases what is needed is professional help. (Preferably from a
therapist less crazy than you are!) If you have issues with addiction,
obsessive disorders, blinding jealousy, neurosis, etc, you really need
to seek professional help from a trained therapist.
You can�t change things like this yourself, because mental illness
always reinvents itself. It convinces you that it has been fixed, but
it has really gone underground or permutated into something different.
You simply cannot clear yourself of mental illness. No one can.
And of course denial and lying to ourselves is certainly a form of
mental illness. If it isn�t too deep, you may be able to get yourself
back to truthfulness without a mental therapist. But to do that, you�ll
need a good support group of friends in your life.
You need people of consciousness, who are aware and intelligent. And
most importantly, not afraid to tell you things you don�t want to hear.
Here are the kinds of things a good friend can tell you:
� That you are being emotionally abused by your partner.
� That you are repeating a pattern of dysfunctional relationships.
� That you have unhealthy spending patterns and a need for your own high volume, high profit home business!
� That you are hoarding money and have a lack mentality.
� That you are not assertive enough to get your needs met.
Of course the most important person of all to tell you the truth is
yourself. So having good friends and seeking professional help when you
need it keeps you on the right track.
Do some HONEST reflection.
How much are you in denial about the things that happen in your life? Here is a hint:
Anything bad that happens to you that you think is the fault of anyone or anything else�you are in denial about!

Well, How’s This Relevant to Network Marketers?
One key that all elite performers use is tracking—being able to analyze your success in an endeavor.

need to track your performance too. If you want to be a successful network marketer, you must view yourself as an elite performer.
All elite performers have a way to measure themselves and create what’s called a “baseline standard”. This term sets the bar, so to speak. It gives you your current level of performance.
Once you know how you’re currently performing, you can then set your sights on achieving more!
This is so important and it’s something I did… and still do… to achieve breakthrough success.
Not only will tracking reveal your “baseline standard”, it also uncovers your weaknesses.
Let me explain:
Let’s say you set 13 appointments, but you have zero presentations.
What’s the problem here?
Not the fact that you’re making appointments. You’re just not able to convert an appointment into a presentation. So you’re dead in the water before you even get started.
With just a little tracking, you’ll see your weakness and you’ll be able to concentrate on improving that area. Then after more tracking, you may see your number of presentations rise to 6 out of 13.
It’s less than a 50% conversion rate, but in reality, it’s a 600% increase! You’ll not find one business owner on the planet who wouldn’t want a 600% increase.

SCENE ONE, TAKE ONE:
You’ve gotten your downline associate over his/her telephone fear. You are both prepped and ready for him/her to make the first prospect call. You’ve got a plan to invite someone to look at a video, listen to a conference call, or attend a live meeting.
You watch them dial. Voice mail. What do they do?
You cringe. They suffer embarrassment. Didn’t you say they were prepared; that you were ready? They were prepared alright, for a live person!
Not a pretty sight! Not too inspiring or confidence-building; not going to create reach your way that way, no way.
Just be yourself.
*There is a difference in the last half of the message, however.
Varying the last part of your message could prove a costly mistake, because the prospect may not have your number. You must repeat it, because he may not have heard it the first time, or the message was not recorded properly.
Assume the worst phone connection and never make the mistake of a poor message, or that your prospect already has your number.
Speak clearly and without hurry. Remember to inspire a return call. If you have to include some important data, make sure it is placed early in the message. Let your phone number be the last thing they hear — people often hang up after they hear it.
And remember… mystery creates reach. Leave your audience hanging a bit. People are naturally curious, whether in your associate’s warm or cold market!

You’ve gotten your downline associate over his/her telephone fear. You are both prepped and ready for him/her to make the first prospect call. You’ve got a plan to invite someone to look at a video, listen to a conference call, or attend a live meeting.
You watch them dial. Voice mail. What do they do?
MACHINE: “After the beep, leave your message.”
YOUR ASSOCIATE: “Hi… uh… I was just calling to… I’ll just try later.”
You cringe. They suffer embarrassment. Didn’t you say they were prepared; that you were ready? They were prepared alright, for a live person!
Not a pretty sight! Not too inspiring or confidence-building; not going to create reach your way that way, no way.
Practice, practice, practice
Right now is a good time to learn what to do right, and what to practice until they are never surprised again by an answering machine or a voice mail service. This is how you do it:- Leave yourself a message.
- Listen to it.
- Listen to how you sound.
- Decide what to do better.
- Make another test.
- Make more corrections and do it again… and again… and again.
- Practice with them until both you and they are satisfied that they can leave a message that sounds great every time, inspires confidence, and creates reach.
Warm Market Call Style
Warm market calls (to people you already know) usually get responses — they know the caller, and vagueness is okay:
ASSOCIATE: “Hey, it’s me. Give me a shout out when you can.”
Keep it light and try not to sound like a different person. Here are six examples:
“Hi John. This is Warren. How are you? I’m calling to talk a little business with you… “
“Hi John. Warren here. Give me a call. I’ve got something I want to run past you… “
“Hi John. Warren here… haven’t talked in a while. I’d like to catch up on what you’ve been up to and run something by you… “
“Hi John. This is Warren. Hey man, something’s come across my desk that you may find interesting… “
“Hi
John, this is W.K., we’ve not talked in a VERY long time. Give me a
call when you can. I want to hear about what you’ve been up to…. “
Just be yourself.
“Hey John, did you see the ‘HURRICANES beat up on the Bulldogs? I’m calling to rub it in a little…
(laughs)
“… I want to talk a little business with you… “
Cold Market Call Style
Cold market calls (to people you know) will respond to authority. Position yourself as a leader in your field, but gently:
“Hi!
I’m calling for John Smith. John, you filled out a questionnaire
indicating your interest in a home business. I’m calling with regard to
that. I’d like to get to know you a little bit and find out what you had
in mind to see if it’s a fit with what I have. Let me give you my
number…”
Long-winded messages or very short messages are not recommended. *There is a difference in the last half of the message, however.
The
last part of the message should ALWAYS be the same. Let me repeat that:
The last part of the message should ALWAYS BE THE SAME!
The Last Part of the Message:
“… let me give you my number 888.888.8888. I’ll give that to you again, 888.888.8888. Look forward to talking with you.”
Varying the last part of your message could prove a costly mistake, because the prospect may not have your number. You must repeat it, because he may not have heard it the first time, or the message was not recorded properly.
Assume the worst phone connection and never make the mistake of a poor message, or that your prospect already has your number.
Speak clearly and without hurry. Remember to inspire a return call. If you have to include some important data, make sure it is placed early in the message. Let your phone number be the last thing they hear — people often hang up after they hear it.
And remember… mystery creates reach. Leave your audience hanging a bit. People are naturally curious, whether in your associate’s warm or cold market!

Network Marketing Training - "The Power of Successful 3-Way Calls To Build Your Business!"
Three way calling! Three way calling! You gotta do three way calling in The Network Marketing Business!
You may be wondering what all the talk is about concerning three way calling in the Network Marketing Profession.. Good point! You need to have an understanding of what it is, and basics of doing it. It is an effective way to do this business and very cost effective as well.
Understand….once you have contacted your friends and family , you need to do what is called a three way call with them, with your Network Marketing sponsor on the line.
This will do three things:
1)Build credibility.
2)Validate you and the product.
3)Help train you as you listen to your sponsor talk to your Network Marketing prospect.
What is 3-way calling in the Network Marketing Profession?
It is a technology and a tool available from your local phone company that allows 3 people to talk to each other on the phone. We use it in Network Marketing to train, validate, and help you “earn while you learn.”
Let your sponsor in the Network Marketing company you are in walk you through. They are there to help you and guide you in the early stages of your business. Contact your telephone company to install it on your line. It runs about 5.00 a month.
How do you do a three way call?
It is as simple as 1-2-3.
You call your sponsor, and give them a short background on the prospect, (name, age, occupation etc) and then press the “flash” button on your phone, or the receiver button, and then dial the number of your friend, and then when it starts ringing, press the “flash” button again, and you will have both parties on the line.
A three way call is broken down into three parts:
1.) “Introduction”
This is where you introduce your sponsor to your prospect:
* Do not let them carry on a conversation with you first, and then tell them someone is on the line…it is embarrassing to everyone!
Have I caught you at a good time? Great! I have a friend/ associate/expert/partner/ -Steve- on the line who is an expert with this product and company, and I was telling her about you, and she wanted to meet you…Karlton, are you there?
Stay quiet and listen to your sponsor.
2) “The Expert” - your sponsor or upline who is calling with you.
During the call, your sponsor will reaffirm what you have told them. And also validate you. There are many different ways to do three ways, but always ask questions about the prospect, and show you are INTERESTED IN THEM! Your sponsor will also help get your prospect to the next event, and also say something about you as a serious player in this business-(and if you are doing three ways –you ARE!)
3) “The Summary” or Next Move.
This will be to summarize what has been agreed to by the prospect, and also to thank them for their time and how forward you are looking to see them.

So...Is It MLM, Referral Marketing or Network Marketing???
A lot of people wonder if their business is Network Marketing or MLM, which is short for Multi-Level marketing.
Typically speaking these terms are used synonymously - they are basically used to represent the same thing.
However, they are subtly different. I’ll show you how in a moment... but first lets discuss why there are two names for the same thing.
The network marketing industry... which is what it is typically called now... has a history of calling itself different things.

Even today, you’ll hear marketers say... we’re not MLM, or we’re not Network marketing... and they come up with novel new names to suggest they have some brand new way of doing business.
Why? Because they want to counter ingrained conceptions...
The reason network marketing became a popular term in the mid 1980’s was basically because many people in the general population had a negative association with the term multi-level marketing. And this was primarily due to some of the manipulative and hype laden marketing approaches used in the industry.
A new name might work for a while... but it won’t solve the underlying problems - which is why learning how to build a network marketing business properly is so important.
So let’s get down to what really matters... what is this business all about?\We all know the typical organizational chart that starts with you and spreads down.
There’s you... the people you brought in to the business - customers and promoters... and then there’s the people they bring in.
Organizations don’t grow symmetrically like this in the real world by the way... what I’m showing is simply for the sake of illustration.
Most of the time you’ll see this go on for a number of levels and when it’s talked about, it’s usually in terms of earning commision on this network. 5 percent on this level, 10 percent on this one... you know the drill.
But that’s not the complete story... and I think it creates a lot of misunderstanding.
Misunderstanding that will lead you to marketing methods that don’t work for this type of business and create the need to reinvent a name - rather than reinvent the way we do business.
Let me illustrate two sides of how this business really works... at least in the most successful way.
On one side of the equation you have your company... your downline customers purchase a product or service from this company. The company in turn pays you a commission based on some published plan.
Now this can happen for each level... which is why we call it multi-level marketing.
On the other side you have the picture of promotion - how does this network get created?
What’s different about network marketing is the level of personalization that’s involved vs. other businesses. Building a network is a lot more than about making a one time sale...
it’s about establishing and creating a relationship with the people in your network.
This happens through conversations... not mass marketing. Even if you generate leads through ads or get them from a lead company like Prosperity Central... you need to have conversations in order to build these relationships.
It’s these conversations... and the mentoring on how to have them, that is the network marketing part of the equation.
What you end up with is a network of interpersonal relationships and it’s these relationships that create a customer and product experience that is hard to find in the retail world.
As long as you don’t lose site of this truth... what you call the business really doesn't matter!

If you embarrassed him or showed him lack of human respect, not only will he not work with you, he will level the playing field by telling your friends about the “scam” he avoided when you offered it to him.
- Objections and critical gossiping about past failures and bad experiences can be powerful life lessons. The challenges, once overcome, make you stronger. Dealing with personal issues as they appear and relate to your business, fortifies your resolve if you look at them as opportunities. People trust the leader who sets a good example and wins the day. - It’s all in the numbers, not the yeses or no’s. Some prospects reach out after one conversation, others take 10 — nine”no” answers yield a “yes” on the 10th call. The art and heart of networking is finding out exactly what prospects mean when they give you a “no.” Like the 9th call, understanding the true objection could open the door to the change for the better that rocks your business!
- Bug them not. If friend or family prospects clearly are not interested, move on. Learn how to get yourself in front of new people who might see your MLM business or product eye-to-eye. Satisfied customers are the new warm list, and they will bring you other people who want what they have.
What’s Old Is New Again
Warm-list marketing from the early days brought MLM as an industry to where it is today. Best Network Marketing/Internet Marketing Tips:"How to Argue With Your Prospects!"
"If nobody is listening, then what you say won't work."
Ever try to win an argument? It is hard because the other person tries to defend his position and views. The more you talk, the more the other person thinks of new things to say to support his position.
Wait, if you are talking, and the other person isn't listening because he is thinking of what to say next ... well, what you're saying isn't being heard.
So the first rule of arguing, especially in the network marketing profession, is to agree with the other person. That will stop the other person from thinking of new things to say. And if you are agreeing with the other person, well, there is no argument.
So first, agree. Then ... you can insert your point of view because the other person is listening. Want an example?
Just learn these two words: "Of course."
Now, observe how this sounds to the other person who has just given you an objection.
Prospect: "I don't have any money to join."
You: "Of course you don't have any money to join. That is why I am talking to you, because I know you want to change that situation. So let's first look at how you can raise the money to ..."
Prospect: "I don't have any time. I am way too busy."
You: "Of course you don't have any time. That is why I am talking to you, because I know you eventually want more time in your life. So let's see how ..."
Got the idea?
It is polite to agree with the other person, and it opens up the lines of communication so your message can be heard.

"Why It's NOT Your Sponsor's Fault...REALLY!"
Here’s a question
a reader of this blog sent in to us recently. See if it sounds familiar...
The majority of those have not heard from their sponsor since joining.
I think that’s sad but it does not have to be the end of your business. In the end building your business is up to you, not your sponsor not even those who you sponsor. There is a lot you can learn from their lack of leadership and you can certainly see how you can do so much better with your own organization.
It’s tempting to think about finding another sponsor or finding another company. You certainly have that option, but will it really solve your problem? A lot of people think that it will and they find themselves always looking for something else. In the end the statistics tell us the truth: the odds are that is will NOT make a difference.
Why? Because it’s focusing on the wrong thing.
The only thing that will build your business is you getting into action , learning how to contact prospects in an effective manner and doing it consistently. Having an upline there to hold your hand is nice but it’s not necessary for success – thought it’s nice to have.

I’m really serious about the success of my business and I’m willing to work hard to reach my goals. I know that success does not come without skill or effort. My problem is that I don’t feel my upline cares about my interests. I have tried to contact them for help but they have been unresponsive and I don’t even feel they like me. "How to Understand The Marketing Triangle"..."The Top 3 Things That'll Guarantee Your Marketing Success"
Welcome to this article entitled - "How to Understand The Marketing Triangle"
In this recent article you learned that you don’t have to be a direct marketing expert to be successful in network marketing.
This doesn’t mean that marketing isn’t a factor in your success or that you don’t need any skill. Marketing is a big subject and it’s dangerous to lump all the categories into one basket.
On this blog we have a free report that outlines the role of marketing in general as well as how terms like network marketing, direct marketing and even multilevel marketing (MLM) are not exactly the same thing.
That said, network marketing is still marketing! And as a method of marketing it’s subject to what we call the “marketing Triangle.”
The marketing triangle is basically a master key to marketing of any type. Once you understand these 3 factors and their interaction, you’ll be able to unlock the door to your own marketing success. But even more importantly, you’ll understand what strategies are worth pursuing and what strategies are simply smoke and mirrors.
The marketing triangle is the interaction between your product or service, your target market and your marketing approach.
Now each of these three factors is an important subject in and of itself, but in marketing they really can’t be isolated - they don’t stand alone. Without the other two factors a single factor is irrelevant and meaning less.
Let me explain...
You can have a great product to sell,like this one - in marketing we call this your offer, it can be physical like a product such as GBG's 10-in-One Chewable or virtual like an idea or concept - but regardless of what it is, unless you have a target market - an audience that wants the benefits of that product and can afford it, you won’t get very far.
And if you have the product and target market you also need to be able to effectively approach your target market - after all, if your target market - the people most likely to respond to your offer - if they don’t know about your offer they can’t buy. At the same time if it costs you too much to reach them - for whatever reason - it’s not profitable to do so.
So, when you get down to it, this marketing triangle explains why some ventures are successful and why some are not. And it holds true in network marketing as well.
