MLM-Network Marketing:How to Build a Money-Making Home-Based Business Online

Do you think that your low sales and inability to recruit new team members are a product of someone interfering with YOUR efforts? Are you constantly blaming other people for your own failures? Is it your sponsor’s fault? The product’s fault? The company’s fault?
It’s easier to blame others for your own failures – most people do. It’s easier to say things just weren’t “meant to be” than it is to actually put in the effort required to make things happen. It’s easier to follow the crowd than it is to find your own path –but who said building a successful MLM business was easy?

Sadly, over 95% of all networkers quit the MLM industry within their first year.
They see little to no results, get frustrated, start pointing fingers (mainly at their upline or their company), and end up making some excuse or other for quitting.
I hate to break it to you, but it takes hard work and perseverance to join a business opportunity, build an online presence, brand yourself as an expert, earn the public’s trust, and close enough sales to earn that extra $500 every month so you can start paying your way out of debt and achieve financial independence.
If you want to build a profitable home-based business, you have to realize that each and every failure –and therefore, every success– is a product of the things YOU do and who YOU are.
Take OWNERSHIP of your own mistakes instead of looking for someone or something to blame. Look to see how you can learn and grow from your mistakes.
The moment you take CONTROL of your life and your MLM business is the moment you’ll stop making excuses and start finding solutions!
If you are having trouble closing because you’re uncomfortable asking people for their money, read Dani Johnson’s Closing Script book.
Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook
To YOUR success,

The REAL Truth About Free Web Traffic "THE GURUS" DON"T Want You to Know!

Today’s tip comes from a question submitted by Robert in Florida.

He writes...“I see a lot of promotions about generating free traffic.
Do any of these actually work or can you recommend any ways to generate free web traffic?”

Well Robert, you are certainly not alone in wanting to get more people to look at your site and what you have to offer. However what we’ve found is that the promise and the reality of those free traffic programs and courses don’t often line up.

If you take a look at some of the most successful advertising venues of the past and present you’ll notice a common thread... the venues - whether magazines or Google - all convert a successful medium into a “pay to play” model.

That’s the nature of business after all. The more successful a particular medium is, the more it will cost to advertise there. It’s basic supply and demand at play.

So while there are places to promote that don’t cost money directly... relying on them as the foundation of your business is taking a real chance.

I think web marketing expert Perry Marshall said it best when he said that, “A business that requires free traffic in order to stay in business isn’t a business. It’s a bankruptcy waiting to happen.”

Now, considering all this, there are some sources of what could be considered free traffic that you really should be using - especially if you are also spending money on ads.

The most reliable and consistent I have found for my own businesses and many small business clients I work with is search marketing.

You see the most important part of any ad is reaching the right audience. You want to present your offer to those most likely to be interested.

This takes out things like traffic exchanges and safelists - because they consist mostly of people like you. They want to show you their offer, not look at yours.

In fact, in a recent social media survey from an expert source I read recently, that found that while over 75% of network marketers using Twitter wanted to use it to tell others about what they have, only about 20% were interested in reading about the offers of others.

In other words, everyone wants to talk, but no one is listening.

Which brings us back to search marketing... in search you are at least targeting people as they have a question or problem they are trying to solve.

This is super targeted traffic that’s much more productive than traffic from other means because they are actively searching rather than being interrupted with an ad.

This is an important factor we don’t have time to get into - but know that there is a big psychological difference between me trying to get you to pay attention to something and you searching it out.

In fact, while still not as effective as personal recommendations, it’s the most effective online marketing method when it come to trust.
The trouble with search marketing is that getting ranked and generating business from it takes quite a bit of time, patience and skill.

Now I’ve helped small businesses increase their online orders by over 500% but it can take months to start seeing results and years to gain true mastery.

Now keep in mind that despite courses and companies that claim they can get you listed on the first page of Google for a keyword, there are only so many spots on that first page. It’s just impossible for everyone to be number one and the more people are trying the harder it actually is.

So when you consider all this... even free isn’t actually free. It still take knowledge, skill and work.

NOTE: HERE'S ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO SHORTEN YOUR LEARNING CURVE & GET PROFITABLE RESULTS QUICKLY

Simply keeping this in mind will help you make better decisions regarding your own promotional strategies.

So How Do YOU Explain Network Marketing???

Do you ever have trouble explaining network marketing to a prospect or family member? Do you find yourself getting rabbit trailed on percentages or levels?

It's not uncommon for people in a network marketing business to have trouble explaining it. Which is why I'm going to help you get clarity in this article & this one published on this blog earlier.

In this article I explain how network marketing works best - including the role your company and product play as well as the role you and your team play. In the process I also clear up some terminology questions regarding the difference between network marketing and the many other names given to it.

So ...

Is It Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)?

A lot of people wonder if their business is Network Marketing or MLM, which is short for Multi-Level marketing.

Typically speaking these terms are used synonymously - they are basically used to represent the same thing.

However, they are subtly different. I’ll show you how in a moment... but first lets discuss why there are two names for the same thing.

The network marketing industry... which is what it is typically called now... has a history of calling itself different things.

Even today, you’ll hear marketers say... we’re not MLM, or we’re not Network marketing... and they come up with novel new names to suggest they have some brand new way of doing business.

Why? Because they want to counter ingrained conceptions...

The reason network marketing became a popular term in the mid 1980’s was basically because many people in the general population had a negative association with the term multi-level marketing. And this was primarily due to some of the manipulative and hype laden marketing approaches used in the industry.

A new name might work for a while... but it won’t solve the underlying problems - which is why learning how to build a network marketing business properly is so important.

So let’s get down to what really matters... what is this business all about? We all know the typical organizational chart that starts with you and spreads down.

There’s you... the people you brought in to the business - customers and promoters... and then there’s the people they bring in.

Organizations don’t grow symmetrically like this in the real world by the way...

Most of the time you’ll see this go on for a number of levels and when it’s talked about, it’s usually in terms of earning commision on this network. 5 percent on this level, 10 percent on this one... you know the drill.

But that’s not the complete story... and I think it creates a lot of misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding that will lead you to marketing methods that don’t work for this type of business and create the need to reinvent a name - rather than reinvent the way we do business.

Let me illustrate two sides of how this business really works... at least in the most successful way.

On one side of the equation you have your company... your downline customers purchase a product or service from this company. The company in turn pays you a commission based on some published plan.

=> Click here now to see what a pay plan that's truly fair to you should look like!!!

Now this can happen for each level... which is why we call it multi-level marketing.

On the other side you have the picture of promotion - how does this network get created?

What’s different about network marketing is the level of personalization that’s involved vs. other businesses.

Building a network is a lot more than about making a one time sale...it’s about establishing and creating a relationship with the people in your network.

This happens through conversations... not mass marketing. Even if you generate leads through ads or get them from a lead company ... you need to have conversations in order to build these relationships.

It’s these conversations... and the mentoring on how to have them, that is the network marketing part of the equation.

What you end up with is a network of interpersonal relationships and it’s these relationships that create a customer and product experience that is hard to find in the retail world.

As long as you don’t lose site of this truth... what you call the business really doesn't matter!

Network Marketing | MLM Training Tip:"What A Prospect Really Wants to Know"

So what information does the prospect for your network marketing really want to know?

Ah, there is the million-dollar question.

In order for a prospect to make an immediate decision to:

     1. Say he wants to join your business,

     2. Say he doesn't want to join your business,

     3. Or, to maybe have a question or two,

You must answer three basic questions.

 That's it!

At this point in your career, your prospect only
wants the answers to three basic questions.

If you answer these three questions, your prospect will
have enough information to make a decision.

And if the decision is to join your business, all
of those other facts, figures, and information
can be learned later on in training.

     ==> Simple, yes?

So let's take a look at question #1.

 Question #1:

"What kind of business are you in?"

Would you ever join a business if you didn't know
what kind of business it was?

 Of course not.

And if you were confused or unclear about what type
of business you were asked to join, you still
 wouldn't join.

We must be perfectly clear what type of business
we are in or our prospects will delay their decision
because we didn't answer this question clearly.

I bet you have heard your prospect say:

"I got to think it over."

So what type of business are you in?

 Insurance? Sport fishing? Farming? Mechanical
repair? Circus performing? Soldier of fortune?
 Landscaping? Nuclear medicine? Shoe repair?

 Your prospect wants to know.

A buddy of mine was in Sweden about 10 years ago
when he asked a  networker:

"What type of business are you in?"

 He replied:

"I am in the global search for entrepreneurial
talent, for time freedom and financial freedom,
whereby they can enhance their efforts through
multiple streams of residual income, thereby
       improving their lifestyle . . ."

 Well, you get the idea.

No wonder this networker was having a hard time
sponsoring. The prospects had no idea what kind
 of business he was offering!

How do you describe your business?

 Do you say:

"I am a distributor with the Wonderful
Company, from the Wonderful City, started in
the wonderful year of 1991 by Mr. Wonderful
who is a wonderful, wonderful family man,
and we have wonderful products, wonderful
       employees, wonderful shipping, wonderful
uplines, wonderful blah, blah, blah . . ."

 Or do you say:

"I am in the skin care business."

(And the prospect thinks you make bandages for
cuts, or maybe you do skin grafts.)

"I am in the health and wellness business."

(And the prospect thinks that you change bed pans
 at the local nursing home.)

"I am in the financial services industry."

(And the prospect thinks that you are a bank
 teller.)

If you don't know how to describe your business,
here is an easy way that should help.

      "Which means."

When you describe your business, you should use
the "which means" words to connect your business
to one of your products or services. This helps
the prospect understand exactly what you do in
 your business.

 Want an example?

 Try this:

"I am in the skin care business which means
that we have this wonderful moisturizer that
makes your skin look 20 years younger in
       only 45 seconds a day."

"I am in the health and wellness business
which means that we have a 10-in-One Chewable
Vitamin & Mineral Formula which tastes delicious!

It's 10 powerful formulas in one!

  1. Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Formula with Essential Daily Value Nutrients
  2. Cardiovascular Formula* for a Healthy Heart!
  3. Anti-Stress Formula* for today's Hectic Lifestyles!
  4. Super-Antioxidant Formula* with Age-Defying Nutrients!
  5. Immune Enhancer Formula* to Defend Your Body at the Cellular Level!
  6. Memory and Mood Enhancing Formula* with proven "Feel Good" Neuro-Nutrients
  7. Energizer Formula* naturally, with No Harsh Stimulants!
  8. Digestive Aid Formula* with Pure Aloe Concentrate!
  9. Bone & Joint Formula* with Sulfur-Rich MSM!
  10. Vision Support Formula* with the Powerful Benefits of Lutein and More!
        Or if you are in the financial services industry you might say;

"I am in the financial services industry
which means that we help families lower
their mortgage, credit card, and car
payments so that they have more money for
       fun things and retirement."

See the difference? Now your prospect knows
exactly what kind of business you are in.

Don't forget those magic words, "which means," as
they will guide you to a better description of
the type of business you are in.

 ==> Now for question #2.

I will see you in a few days.

So be looking for my next article on this subject in a few days where I'll share with you  the second question the prospect needs to know to make an IMMEDIATE decision to join your business.

It is going to be easy :)

Until then...  Happy prospecting!

The Power of Asking Your Prospect A Negative Question

There is tremendous power in asking your prospect a negative question.

Try starting your presentation with a question such as:

1. Why do you want to invest your time in a part-time business?

2. Why are you interested in adding more work to your week?

3. Why do you want to sacrifice and starve yourself just to lose a little weight?
These types of questions appear to be negative. However, your prospect will assume that he wants what you have to offer and will sell you and himself on the benefits of your offering.

For example:

You: Why do you want to invest your time in a part-time business?

Prospect: Well, I'm just not making enough money in my present job, and I can't see myself pushing paper from one side of the desk to the other side of the desk for the rest of my life. I want a change and I thought I could test the waters by trying a part-time business. I don't want to risk what I have, but I do want to try something that will reward me very quickly & profitably.

Just make a list of appropriate "negative" questions for your business and test the results for yourself.

Network Marketing Training | MLM Training: "Why People Join The MLM/Network Marketing Business" by Warren Little

Why Do People Join MLM Anyway?
Why Look at MLM?

People join MLM companies for many different reasons.  Here's a partial list.
Join MLM as a social activity
MLM is a great place to meet people and have fun.

There are business meetings, training meetings, cruises, cookouts and fireside chats where you can meet lots of new friends.

Conversation topics are normally business and personal-growth related. I know many people who have found their spouse in MLM because there are so many people and so many events one can attend.

Every 12-18 months most MLM companies hold national or international conventions where people meet from all over the world. This is a great place to meet people. Personally I’ve made friends in over 20 different countries. It’s rare to find an organization outside of MLM with as many opportunities to meet people and socialize.

Another aspect of social activities is working with friends and/or family members. I’ve seen very often that couples would like to work together in their own business - MLM offers that opportunity.

Join MLM to transition into business ownership.

Most people work as hard as they can in whatever job they can find to keep up with expenses. They feel trapped because they HAVE to go to work to pay the bills. MLM offers a way out of the typical job trap because a person can work their MLM business part-time until they earn enough income to quit their full time job - if they desire to do so.
I’ve met professionals who have replaced their income through MLM, but love what they do so much that they continue in their old profession - but without the stress of having to make living with it. Personally, I’ve seen doctors, artists, school teachers and architects do this.
Join MLM to help people.

Suppose the MLM company you join helps people with weight management. As you get trained in how to sell products, you learn a lot about the subject of weight management.

This knowledge allows you to help other people with weight management issues. I have also known very wealthy people to join MLM because they want to help people earn more money and achieve the lifestyle they’ve enjoyed.

Rarely can a person who has become wealthy in a traditional business be able to help their friends also become wealthy; MLM is the exception.
When you’re able to help someone overcome a weight management problem that they’ve struggled with, or help someone improve their skin condition, or help someone achieve financial freedom, it’s very rewarding because you know you’ve made their life better.

Join MLM to live where you want to live.

I’ve met several people throughout my travels that joined MLM because they fell in love with a particular part of the world and wanted to live there, away from the “rat-race lifestyle.”

That you can work from home in MLM is very enticing to many people. Not only can you work from home with MLM, but you can work from ANY home. I have met people who live on a boat and build their MLM business.
Join MLM as a retirement alternative or addition.

Today in the United States only 40% of people who work actually have a retirement account. Of those who have a retirement account of some kind, the average account balance is $29,000.00.

This will not afford the average retiree the money to pay predictable expenses (mortgage payments, utilities, food, auto expenses, etc.).

The $29,000 certainly won’t afford any unpredictable, catastrophic expenses such as medical costs. MLM offers a way for a person to create an income as an alternative to standard retirement plans or to augment their current retirement plan.

Join MLM to create wealth.
Yes, wealth is available to people in MLM. It will require as much effort (and results) as creating wealth using any other business method. You cannot shortcut the effort in the creation of wealth.

But with MLM it doesn’t require as much start-up capital expense as with most other wealth-creation options. I did not write that it would require NO start-up capital; just less. Incidentally, I have accomplished all of the above through MLM. It is absolutely doable!
Why Corporations Like MLM
As Harvard-educated Professor Charles King and I discussed, all businesses, churches, politicians, schools, etc. know that word-of-mouth advertising is the most effective and efficient form of advertising. It’s effective because the advertising is coming from a trusted source - a friend, a family member, an acquaintance; it’s efficient because the company does not have to pay for advertising that doesn’t reach the customer.

If a company sends out 1,000 post cards telling people where their store is located and only 1% of the 1,000 come into the store, then 99% of the advertising was wasted. If a company spends 450 million dollars on an advertising campaign but only sells 100 million worth of products, they have lost 350 million dollars. Corporations love doing business with MLM companies because they only pay for results. They pay no advertising expense until the product is sold.

The other reason corporations like MLM is because they’re paying for advertising that benefits the consumer. Let me explain: if a company (such as T-Mobile) hires celebrity Catherine Zeta Jones and pays her 20 million dollars, that 20 million doesn’t benefit the consumer. As charming as Catherine Zeta Jones may be, she adds no value to the consumer. In network marketing, that same 20 million dollars goes to distributors who have (hopefully) mastered the product and are able to explain it to the consumer.

MLM companies pay for production, not for coming to work
The word production means “something produced.” If a non-MLM company hires a sales representative to sell their products, they normally pay the sales rep a salary plus commission on the sales of the products sold. They do this prior to knowing if the sales rep will sell anything at all. If the sales rep never sells anything, their salary is a wasted expense. In multi-level marketing, the company ONLY pays a commission when a product is actually sold. That’s paying for production instead of paying people to come to work whether they produce a sale or not.

Conversely, if you’re the type of person who seeks ways to hide from producing, you’ll hate MLM if you continue that same non-productive activity.

Best possible use of your time
If you are a productive person, you will want what MLM offers. You can create a pay raise any time you want. In addition there is little or no limit to how much money you can make.

But most importantly, you’re multiplying your time instead of expending it. There are three things you can do with time: Expend it, invest it, and/or multiply it. As an employee, you’re expending your time. Expend 8 hours, get paid for 8 hours. In MLM, you train another person to do what you do - that’s investing your time. You work 8 hours, the person you trained works 8 hours - you’re [theoretically] getting paid for 16 hours of work. If the person you trained trains someone else, you’ve multiplied your time. Don’t brush by this statement… IT IS THE REASON MLM IS SO POWERFUL. Most people don’t understand this part.
